Tiger Woods, Privacy, Christensen, 47.24 meter, 2004

With so much gossip about Tiger Woods, I can't ignore his yacht "Privacy", a Christensen 155, delivered in 2004. Although I must admit that I have not taken these pictures myself, I collected them from the internet. Just as the following information:

Tiger Woods owns a 155 foot motor yacht that goes by the name “Privacy”, and he is quoted as saying he purchased the yacht as a sanctuary from the media. The yacht’s name “Privacy” pretty much says it all and it would appear he will soon be putting that name to the test. Locals in North Palm Beach have seen crew loading supplies and preparing Tiger Woods' yacht for sea over the past couple of days. The mega yacht is berthed at Old Port Cove and is in "disguise" as the crew have covered up its name to keep a lower profile.

Tiger Woods purchased the mega yacht for $20 million in 2004 from Christensen Shipyards. The "Privacy" is a 155 Trideck fiberglass motor yacht with a 29.5 foot beam. Propulsion on the yacht is from a pair of 1,800 hp MTU/Detroit Diesel motors while two 99 kilowatt Northern Lights generators provide electrical power. Fluid capacities are 12,000 gallons of fuel and 2,000 gallons of water, and Tiger Woods’ yacht usually carries three SeaDoos, two ocean kayaks and two Vespa scooters. On the boat's deck is a large bar and a 8 person jacuzzi. The yacht also has a station to fill scuba tanks and an inflatable decompression chamber. The interior of Tiger Woods’ yacht is filled with cherry woodwork. The VIP stateroom is aft with two queen size cabin amidships and a twin cabin. The second twin cabin has been converted to a workout room with a treadmill, exercise bike and free weights. The sweeping staircase has transparent stairs and a cherry handrail. The main living area is an open floor plan with only a single divider between the saloon and the dining room. Along with a staircase there is an elevator that will hold three people.

The yacht took almost three years to build, and after receiving his yacht, it is said that Tiger Woods discovered Christensen had used his purchase to promote their business and sued them for violating the privacy agreement that was signed when the boat was ordered. Wood’s lawsuit claimed the shipyard used his name and photos for promotion without authorization. It has been reported that the court ruled in Woods’ favor and he received $1.6 million.
